Kafala system

Kafala system reveals the enslavement of laborers in Saudi Arabia. As kaleef which means sponsors who employ foreign laborers and restrict them to change their job and go on vacations. However, Saudi officials announced a reform of changes in the kafala system so that it can be transparent and attractive to foreign workers. The report shows that around one million Pakistan workers are working in the Saudi Kingdom. No doubt Saudi officials desire a diversified economy which is still on the petrochemical resources of the country. Moreover, the reforms will take place with a year, which will probably lower the kafala system. Thus, slavery still exists in the contemporary world in different names and labels.
